 A large portion of Mr. Marcum’s work involves litigation in areas such as product liability, trucking, motor vehicle accidents, toxic torts, asbestos exposure, food borne exposure and other types of personal injury claims as well as commercial, oil and gas, environmental, insurance, contract and construction cases. He has appeared in the courts of numerous states and has managed and handled cases at the local, statewide, regional and national level as well as cases arising out of incidents that occurred outside the United States. He has tried numerous cases and for a number of years a significant portion of his practice has been devoted to the defense of automobile manufacturers in motor vehicle rollover accidents. He has been formally trained in accident reconstruction and has a wide range of experience in managing accident investigations and defending vehicle handling and stability claims and the numerous types of crashworthiness claims that typically flow from rollover accidents.  In addition to his trial practice he advises clients in regard to general business matters, oil and gas exploration and development issues, education issues and industrial development matters. He has lectured in the areas of trial practice, expert witnesses, trial technology, e-discovery, product liability, ethics, handling of cases arising on foreign soil and case management. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee in 1977 and his law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1980. He is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of the State of Tennessee and in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals 

STEPHEN A. MARCUM

Mr. Marcum engages in a litigation based practice, handling a variety of cases in areas such as product liability, trucking, toxic torts, food borne exposure and other types of personal injury claims as well as commercial, environmental and construction cases. He has appeared in the courts of numerous states and has managed and handled cases at the local, statewide, regional and national level as well as cases arising out of incidents that occurred outside the United States. He has tried numerous cases and for over twenty years a significant portion of his practice has been devoted to the defense of motor vehicle rollover accidents. He has been formally trained in accident reconstruction and has a wide range of experience in defending vehicle handling and stability claims and the numerous types of crashworthiness claims that typically flow from rollover accidents. He has lectured in the areas of trial practice, ethics and case management.
